Computer Science Intern
Electro-Active Technologies is seeking a Computer Science intern to start in the next one-two months to assist with changes in code and systems maintenance for our waste to hydrogen systems. Our control system includes circuits with several sensors and electrochemical devices which facilitate production of renewable hydrogen from a waste stream. We use a modified (bio)electrolysis process which requires management of several process conditions. Knowledge or experience in code development, maintenance and debugging of software for controlling power electronics and electrical systems is desirable. Electro-Active is developing next generation of clean and sustainable hydrogen production systems combining electrical energy with chemical energy from waste. These are the best in class, upcoming technologies to develop novel systems for a circular economy. Production of clean hydrogen from waste is an important goal for clean cities of the future and state environmental managers. California and states along the East Coast have upcoming targets for clean fuel production, a vision Electro-Active plans to support.
JOB OVERVIEW
Maintain software for Electro-Active process control system
Develop updates to software for facilitating changes in system operation and process flows optimizing conversion of waste to hydrogen.
Support prototyping and new hardware development
Ensure data quality, monitoring and integrity of assigned tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in BS Computer Science or higher, equivalent discipline (Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering) with experience in programming C++, Python, etc.
A basic understanding of control systems and systems engineering for electrical devices [relevant co-op, internship, or thesis experience is desirable]
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in code development for managing Arduino, other microcontrollers and higher level circuit systems
Knowledge of sensors and process control to manage electrical and electronics systems
Fuel cell, electrolysis or other electrochemical system design and test experience
Your contributions to design and code will contribute to solving the most important problems the world faces today: Climate Change. It will involve using the latest and most complex technical updates in the areas of bioelectrochemical process control, distributed energy production systems, data management, automation, and optimization.
Interested candidates please submit a resume and interests to aborole@electroactive.tech. The position is available for this summer.
